Flood
Across the desert,
You speak to me
Words of hope,
Straining to hear you
I want to be free,
To know this great truth,
Of fire and light,
To be captured by this truth,
To be given life.
Water streams down
These dry landscapes
They breathe a sigh of relief,
For their day has come.
Renewed, restored,
And ever-changing in my soul,
I clamor to the spring,
Take in what is found.
Gasping under this new light,
My eyes are drenched,
My soul
Now has wings to fly.
